Broken Mirror. (What broke you?)

Seeing oneself in a broken mirror.

Broken mirror.

Countless cracks in the moon.

I LOVE YOU,

I spoke those words too soon.

Uncovering an unhealed wound,

I see your body covered in black and blue.

Broken mirror.

My words parried only to run me through,

wounded by the reflection of your once-hidden truth.

Once I only saw myself,

now I only see pieces of you.

Broken mirror.

I close my eyes, open the third, and wonder;

can we make another wish to fix the cracks in the moon?

Like the one that brought me from the brightest parts of creation,

and invited me into the darkest parts of you?

Broken mirror,

will we be able to fix not only the aspects of me,

but piece together all of what makes you, you?

~

Fractions of a whole too precious to remain broken from sleight.

And only one to illuminate,

the longest day and an everlasting night.

Hidden for seasons and covered from fright.

Broken mirror.

A million shades of darkness and light.

From melancholy sunset to a sunrise so bright.

A truth is born;

in a sweat-covered wild gasping for breath,

ascending in the middle of the night;

I am not broken. I am balanced. I will be alright.

For after the EGO has gone.

Love is still love.

And light is still light.
